Blue Moon draft in DC?
We’ve had Hoegaarden, but my husband didn’t care for the sourness. I liked it, but I’m a bit more adventurous than he is. Any suggestions about where I might find the Allagash Wit or Blanche de Chambly? If there...

Indian Beer in San Diego?
with the meal, I’d suggest Belgian witbier, which is a very nice, palate cleansing, refreshing beer with coriander and orange peel, which will be complimentary to Indian seasonings. If you’re simply looking to buy beer...

Beer Pairing with Turkey?
Saison Dupont Belgian witbier - Ommegang, Avery White Rascal, Hoegaarden Thanksgiving dishes, unless you’re doing something radically different, tend to be sweet. Hoppy beers don’t do well with sweet foods, because the...

Tried Blue Moon
Does the fact that BM is brewed by Coors imply something about its quality or bona fides as a witbier? If you wanted ‘the real thing’ then I suppose you’d look to Hoegaarden, a product of Inbev, one of the...

Love Magic Hat #9, Blue Moon, Hoegaarden, but need something new!
Since you like witbier, I’d suggest Avery White Rascal, Ommegang Witte, Unibroue Blanche de Chambly, and Hitachino Nest White Ale. All are exemplary witbiers.

Yebisu-Japan's Finest IMO
Hard to say, it depends on the distribution in your area. I know you can find it on the West and East coasts, not sure about the flyover states. They’re an interesting brewery – they make Belgian (witbier, spiced...

White Beer
witbier is one of my favorite styles. Blanche de Bruxelles is an excellent one. These others are all good examples I’ve had, in no particular order. Not sure where you live but you might be able to find some of them. White...

Wheat Beer
I think you can top Hoegaarden, actually. Brooklyn Brewery’s Blanche de Brooklyn beat it at the World Beer Cup. Avery’s White Rascal and Hitachino Nest White Ale are two other really good witbiers.

Beerhound on kosher beer
in which a brewer might use questionable ingredients. That latter class of beers would include products like Belgian lambics, witbiers and other spiced ales, but not all imported beers that are darker than a bottle of bud.

Oktoberfest in SD
I liked the Tip Top Meats wurst and easy parking at La Mesa, but the beer was just a Karl Strauss Oktoberfest and Witbier. El Cajon had Hacker-Pschorr Dunkel, Warsteiner and other great stuff, plus a much greater variety of...

Beer Pairing with Reuben Sandwiches?
My go-to beers for food like this are always Belgian, either witbier or lambic (sour lambic, not Lindemans). Both of these styles are light in body, so they won’t sit too heavily; palate-cleansing; refreshing; and citrusy....
