Try it at Turtle Tower on Larkin, it’s northern style so you don’t get the basil or bean spouts but boy is their broth awesome. They also have flat noodles.

there’s also pagolac on that same block as mangosteen and bodega bistro. they are all good (i would vote pagolac); IMO bodega is overpriced. turtle tower is also on that block, and has some of the best pho in the city...

Also pho, another great cold weather soup. My favorite pho places in the Tenderloin are Turtle Tower and Bodega Bistro.

Turtle Soup is on Ocean Drive, just down from the Towers. It’s across from the seawall, so if you sit outside you get a beautiful view of the water.

Wonderful. Great advice — i’ll just add over in the tenderloin Turtle Tower and Bodega Bistro both have great pho (Turtle Tower is a little heavier but i think has better noodles.)

Bodega Bistro and Turtle Tower are four blocks away, Thai House Express and A La Turka are seven. I ate at Indigo a few years ago and while the food was good it seemed very generic and trend-driven. The menu still looks that way....
