From Scarface to Key Lime Pie

A culinary tour of seedy-but-cool Red Hook, Brooklyn

Any shops in Park Slope or near a subway line in Brooklyn where I can buy Steve’s Key Lime Pies or even a Swingle? I prefer a medium sized pie if possible.

i keep my freezer full of swingles. had one this evening after a shack burger(or two). life is GREAT!

for game and I went back to processing my own fish. Neither place is a must try place for me, I perfer Corralitos for smoked products and Swingles for meats.

The official name of the “frozen piesicle” by the way, is the "Swingle". Why? I don’t know.

while in red hook, i’d suggest stopping in for a quick swingle(chocolate dipped key lime pie on a stick) as well...

Has anyone tried these? Are they worth all the press they receive? I’m thinking about trying one for Thanksgiving. I’m especially intrigued by the Swingles (chocolate-coated frozen tart on a stick). TIA!

we had the blond giraffe. slightly disappointed, but we in brooklyn(seriously!) are spoiled with steve’s(swingle). a good time was certainly had and at the very least, it’s key lime pie dipped in chocolate on a stick....

they are called "swingle", btw. i keep my freezer FULL of them. :-) don’t forget to down a few schnack burgers while you are in the area.
