I believe Perdix in the South End has a steak tartare appetizer. Also, consider checking out the Ethiopian places in town: Addis Red Sea, Fasika etc....

For late-night steak tartare, Its even cheaper at l’Express ($16) and Blue Ribbon ($13). The Blue Ribbon version is better, but the L’Express version is bigger.

I haven’t had Ansill’s beef tartare, but the venison version they had a while back was incredible. I wish they would bring it back. The beef tartare at Mémé is very good (also with quail egg). Parc has it on their menu...

I am a huge fan of steak tartare. I haven’t had it yet in San Francisco. Who serves the best version in San Francisco proper? Tableside mixing is a nice plus, but how it tastes is my primary concern.
