I like Prather Ranch for beef and Golden Gate Meats for everything else. Both are located in the Ferry Building. If you go on a Saturday, Marin Sun Farms and Highland Hills both have nice selections at the Farmers' Market....

Had a nice Flank Steak salad for lunch there Friday. My wife had a very good Orechiette pasta with bacon. The flank steak was good enought to make me go to the Prather Ranch stand and buy some more on Sat.

If you strike out in the East Bay, Prather Ranch in the Ferry Building has leaf lard. I got some on Saturday. It is white (not yellow at all) and has a very faint odor.
