i go to hastings, so i’ve explored the very immediate vicinity. on larkin up the west side: mangosteen, turtle tower, gyro king, lee’s sandwiches (which may not have opened yet), bodega bistro, pagolac, thai house...

i’d add chutney, phoa hoa, and dottie’s true blue cafe on jones. also, pagolac and the gyro place on the same block of larkin. lee’s sandwiches is opening on larkin soon.

favorites are Pho Hoa Hiep (1402 E. 12th) and New Pagolac (831 International). I don’t know what time your parents are coming in, but a lot of the pho places close early (8 pm). New Pagolac is open later.
