I just learned the former owners of Such is Life (24th/16th? and Osborn) now own a restaurant on south Central called Coycan. Has anyone been? Any feedback?

I think you are thinking of China Doll which used to be at the corner of 7th Avenue and Osborn. If so, it has been closed for some time now.
