That stuff disappeared off the face of the Earth about the time it got the award. It was a 8,000 yen a bottle IIRC, wonder what collectors are paying now. Just saw this for 150 pounds...

think kitchen area in back being built. it may be called NIKKA? anyone have more scoop on this place? restaurant or just bar?

whiskeys bring to the table? Are there any noteworthy brands that you have tried (Suntory, Nikka, Yamzaki, Hakushu, Karuizawa etc...)? Are these spirits trying to resemble scotch, American whiskey or both? Would it be worth going...

to a good liquor store, they will probably have Suntory’s Yamazaki 12 and 18 year old, which are very good. You may also be able to find Nikka Yoichi, but that’s about it for the U.S. Whiskey Magazine, a British trade...

mizuwaris (water mixes) and may account for the quite light touch of some of the premium Japanese whiskies like Hibiki (premium blend) and Hakushu (single malt). Nikka, which is owned by Asahi, is not quite as big on the food...

. Lucky for us, Yamazaki 12 and 18 are excellent malts, but we’re missing out on a lot of good stuff, including Nikka Yoichi, Yamazaki Hokushu, and especially Ichiro’s Malt.
