Perhaps this is not what you’re after, but “real” munster is, firstly, not from Germany, but from the Alsace region of France and secondly, quite different than what I imagine all of you have been describing...

I like the simplicity of that menu. Only downer is the fake looking cookies at the bottom. I’ll have an american and bacon on italian, and an onion and muenster on wheat, please.

I like the Alpine Lace swiss, muenster, and provolone. They have decent flavor and texture. Laughing Cow low-fat is also a good spreadable cheese (comes in regular, which is kind of a neuchatel, onion, and garlic-herb flavors).

Apple, red onion, and muenster is a particular favorite. I like mustard on mine. Bacon, blue cheese and pear is another I’m fond of. A peppery green like watercress or arugula works well on them as well.
