I think that you are asking about Markt, a Belgian restaurant on W. 14th (meatpacking district). They have a very good selection of Belgian beers, but I am not terribly fond of the food.

Can anyone recommend anything in particular at Markt? How is the atmosphere and food?

is really on a roll with their pubs. The Bier Markt is their biggest revenue generating store in their stable. Like 7 or 8 million last year. I think this one is a bit of a lay up.

Loved Markt last time I visited. The mussels and steak tartar were really great. They also had an excellent preparation of skate w/beurre noisette and capers.
