Kingyo: an awful izakaya
That’s too bad you had a bad experience there. I’ve never had a bad meal there yet. I do have to say that Kingyo provides the smallest bang for buck of all the Izakaya...especially compared to the Guus. (20 replies, last updated by grayelf July 17, 2008)

vancouver: Izakaya with a vegetarian?
Admittedly, I don’t usually pay attention to the veggie-friendly dishes at izakayas. However, I’ve been to Kingyo with a vegetarian before and I recall there were at least a couple good tofu-based dishes. (5 replies, last updated by fmed August 14, 2009)

Wanoma--new izakaya on Denman St.
Spanking new place right beside Kingyo, not even 2 weeks old. Brightly lit, clean, cool chopstick holders, about 8 tables plus a couple at the counter. Mercifully mellow music, unlike the raging techno we had at Garlic Guu last... (1 reply, last updated by fmed September 2, 2009)
