Chestnuts
What is the best way to cook chestnuts? Mine always seem to be either dried out or undercooked or otherwise inedible. I cut a cross into them and roast them in a pan in the oven at 350. Any other suggestions?

Frond is correct. The nut-bearing trees on the Yard are horse chestnuts, not true chestnuts, and the nuts are inedible.
