Tanqueray #10 Gin — Thoughts?
You should read a great gin article in the Wall Street Journal from last Saturday. Bottom line, the reviewer preferred t-10 in his gin and tonic claiming it added a citrus scent to it. But preferred Hendricks and Plymouth for the...

Tonic Water - for Gin
Not sure this is the right board for this... but given that it is a mixer, this seems to be the closest match. Recently read an article (I think it was NYT)about “boutique” tonics. While I’ve spent lots of time...

Really great gin?
Hendrick's is very good stuff, but not very traditional. If he’s a purist, I recommend Cadenhead’s Old Raj, also made in Scotland. It’s one of the strongest and most intensely flavored gins out there. The thing...

Good inexpensive gin
My favorite gin in that price range is Bombay Dry Gin (the white label, not the Sapphire). A great mix of botanicals that stand out and isn’t as juniper forward as Beefeater nor juniper meek like Hendrick's.

Is Gin the Best Replacement for Vodka in Cocktails?
I don’t like vodka, but there are a few vodka tail recipes that sound good to me otherwise, and I’d like to try them using a different liquor. In general, do you think a gentler-tasting gin like Hendrick's (rather...

What's up with the price of Plymouth gin?
Plymouth smelled the money being made in the super-premium gin category by Hendrick's and Tanq Ten and their ilk, redesigned its packaging, and repriced itself upwards to appeal to free-spending dolts who equate price with value,...
