I tried doing a search but found nothing definative... Does anyone know when fiddleheads are in season and when I will be able to find them at the Union Square Market? Thanks!

and awful. I presumed that in Canada, they would have picked the same variety, ostrich fern. Could these have been a different edible fern? Any culinary botanists out there who could edify me? Anybody else love fiddleheads?

I used to have a recipe book from the Four Seasons Restaurant in NYC (from some old Book of the Month Club bonus). They had Fiddlehead ferns in there as a great delicacy. Maybe they were drunk when they wrote that section....
