Any recommendations other than Le Champignon Sauvage or Hotel du Vin's Bistro? How is Lumiere these days? Open to fine / Indian / gastropub whatever, just good food for an evening meal.

A good bet is the Hotel du Vin chain (yes, a chain but a good one & a small one) - there is one in Winchester and one in Brighton.

(IMO)There are very good values from this area but the quality level between producers is huge. My rec. is stick to Coteaux du Languedoc as opposed to vin de pay. There are some outstanding wines from 1998 & 1999 vintages. Here...
