Does a Chinese restaurant exist in Manhattan that doesn't drown its dishes with brown sauce, black bean sauce or other jarred glop?
As good as Shun Lee is for a NY restaurant outside of Chinatown, it pales next to a place like Chinois in LA. I think California has got the secret of lighter and fresher is much more appealing. Sometimes less is more.
