The desserts at La Tasca (chinatown or clarendon) are good. So is the sangria. The tapas are mediocre though. I’ve went just for dessert and coffee or sangria before. And forget Love Cafe/Cakelove.

You could also try Cakelove bakery. It is on U Street near 15th Street, I believe. Think they have a web site too and you can order cakes.
